Best of 2014: The Music
2014 was a great time for music. While hits like "All About That Bass" and "Anaconda" topped the radio charts, songs like "Stolen Dance" and "Am I Wrong" began playing on indie charts. There was no sudden arrival of any new particular sound or production. Pop women and big booty ruled the airwaves and invaded the culture, while any, even remotely inspiring, indie rock acts took a nap in backseat of the car. For an indie artist, it was tough to get radio play, even without a single Rihanna hit. But Milky Chance found their chance to shine. If you're like me, you come across a new song and you say to yourself, "Why haven't I heard this before?" That's how the process of finding new music usually works. For me, having a general sense of what gets played on the radio isn't enough to justify my search. Music is an endless experience. Finding it is always fun and usually rewarding.
